Hi,
Please tell me what you usually call these gadgets – cell-phones, mobiles, phones or … ?
Thanks.

I think it's mainly called a cell phone in the US and a mobile in Britain.

All of them are used. It seems like a person to person dependency. So learn them all and observe what people use.

(Observe ... :))) Nobody speaking English around.)

Thanks.

I call it a 'mobile', my daughter calls it a 'cell phone', my wife calls it a 'telly', my second wife calls it a 'mobile phone', my lover calls it a 'telephone'.

You see , it depends from person to person.

In China, they call it a "hand phone" and in many cases do not understand if you say a "cell"
