Its funny to listen to portuguese speakers fumbling through spanish and vice versa; I find it entertaining. One would expect it to be easy for each to learn the respective language, but I think they tend to rely too much on similarities and don't actually study.
Her pronunciation was good, but she was faking the rest:
'escolher' instead of 'escoger'
'si dissessem' instead of 'si dijeran'
'la mesma' instead of 'la misma' and 'el mismo'
'agora' instead of ''ahora''
'magra' instead of 'flaca'
etc...
Probably she simply didn't learn Spanish formally but mixed Portuguese with a few words she heard to Spanish speakers. Still the result is fairly understandable.

They are the worst students of spanish, because they perceive it as being really easy, don't take it that seriously and become over confident. They also don't notice their own mistakes, because the differences are often very minute.
As far as Brazilians who claim to speak spanish go, I thought Giselle was actually reasonably good (her pronunciation mostly); most are much worse.
To really learn Spanish/portuguese well, you have to be as meticulous as you would be when learning a completely unrelated language, because the similarities between spanish/portuguese only help you understand, but not to produce the language correctly. Many people don't realize this.
I actually find that people whos native language is completely unrelated tend to speak better spanish than portuguese speakers do.

Then she is a liar. It's clear that she didn't study Spanish seriously but relies on the similarities between Portuguese and Spanish. If a Portuguese speaker spoke to me that way I would ask him to speak Portuguese better, it would be easier for both.

I've seen it quoted that she "speaks" five different languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Your language is the result of butchered dogs barkings so butchered Latin is much better.
"From Spanish to Portuguese"-the book from Audio Forum would probably help many people who recognize that they have this kind of issue with these similar languages. Yes, I think it would help Portuguese speakers learning Spanish as well. The book may have been a US govt. publication first. I wonder if it is free now, like FSI info.
The recordings will only help people going from Spanish to Portuguese, though.
Book is in English. It discusses in detail how Spanish and Portuguese differ and gives examples.

I don't understand all the fuss just because Brazilians don't speak a language that's pretty easy to understand and that probably they'll never need to use.(I first heard it when I came to Japan but still don't need it)
Anyway, it's pretty common to know that Brazilians (I'd say Portuguese speakers) don't speak Spanish if they don't study it hard (People in my university who studied hard spoke it perfectly).

Lol, actually that's not fair, the man is terrible when it comes to languages, not just Spanish...
I thought Gisele's Spanish was good, much better than her English anyway.
