'Glendale Valley', most tautologic toponym ever!
Le même concept répété en celtique, en germanique, et en français!
Comme si on disait 'Val de Valvallée'
that is correct!
but 'Glendale' is no longer associated strictly with the concept of 'valley' or 'dale' in this context, so it's "[any-city] + Valley", but you are still right. It is neat that it's the same meaning three times. Good observation.
It's interesting too that both "Glen" and "Dale" are both Male given names (in case of Dale, sometimes female).
Not so for "Valley" or "Vale"
and related "Dell" (related to Dale) for a given name
eg. Dell Computers |
