Can someone tell me that particular expression in french?

Somehow I think "salut depuis New York" sounds incorrect.

Salut de New York

I think a more accurate translation is:

Salutations de New York

I think a French person would more likely say:

Hello from New York.
Wassaup from New York.
Saludos desde Nueva York.

Or a traditionalist might say:
Hello de New York.

I second "salutations de New York".
"Salut" is more a translation of "hi" than a translation of "greetings".
