How can u say you require a language or dialect?

Once you don't know how to write it but you can speak it... it doesn't mean you require the knowledge of that language.

In Asia, I know there are many ppl who claim to know certain dialect/language, but they don't know 2 write it... so it doesn't mean they require the knowledge of that language.

It means they can speak it but not write it.

Dialect is a kind language that can be understood by people from the same place, usually there are no written words or grammar, which means you can speak but not write it.
