This guy is Korean but mostly grew up in a Spanish speaking country.
What do you think of his Spanish accent?

1. Is his Spanish accent nearly native-like or awkward?

2. Can you guess where(which country) he grew up?

3. Can you decipher what he is saying?

He tries to sound like a Spaniard but doesn't sound too good, are you sure he grew up in Spain?

<He tries to sound like a Spaniard but doesn't sound too good, are you sure he grew up in Spain?>

I didn't say he grew up in Spain. I said "He grew up in a Spanish speaking country." He actually grew up in a country located in South America.

No way, he said the "TH" sound, so he most be from Spain.

The audio clip was too short.
He may have said the "th" sound, but I can't tell because of the quality of the recording.
I agree with Super Coreano. He grew up in South America, possibly Argentina.
Guaguaron   Wed Nov 26, 2008 1:56 am GMT
If he had grown up in Argentina he would've not say TH.

Maybe it's fashionable in South America to pronounce the TH sound now.

He says "muchas gracias por darme el gusto de comer la comida mas rica del mundo".

What's wrong with that sentence?
Bob   Sun Nov 30, 2008 1:54 am GMT
What he said was not good Spanish. His accent is an OK sounding Latin American accent. He talked really slowly however, which is not characteristic of Spanish. He is not a native speaker.

<<What's wrong with that sentence?>>

The sentance is technically fine but it sounds silly.

Some natives can sound silly too. I know what you mean, but I've heard sentences like that by natives.
