Brazilian vs. Portuguese

I know I know, quick question... Just out of curiosity... I read that Portuguese Portuguese has developed some Brazilian spelling conventions, but which is exposed to the other more? I understand American English penetrates the UK more than vice versa and I'm wondering if Brazilian, with more speakers, makes it into Portugal more. Thanks.

Portuguese Portuguese sounds stupid. European Portuguese is a better term.

Continental Portuguese is the official term, in English.

Shouldn't it be European Portuguese. Brazil is a major part of the South American continent.
