Arguably, there isn't a country on Earth that has had a greater influence on this planet than England.

<<France and US >>

In this analysis, the US is probably regarded as an offshoot of England (which is only approximately correct).

I don't see USA as an offshoot of England. USA only has language in common with England, but nothing else. The ideas of the French Revolution surely had more impact on the creation of USA than the English colonial activity.

I would be interested to learn what the units of measurement might be, in such an assessment.

(10 blusters to a hubris, perhaps.)

Actually, I believe England has had the greatest influence on shaping the world with the exception of the Roman Empire.
A great many political, industrial and legal systems have roots in England.
Of course you are free to disagree with this and deny it.

So, so far we have:

1 - Italy (Rome)
2 - England
3 - China
4 - ????

The French revolution (1789–1799) came after the American revolution (1775–1783).

It's May Day .....the First of May...well, it will be in 35 minutes' time!

May Day is a Public Holiday in the United Kingdom and in almost every other European country as well, although the actual Bank Holiday here in the UK will be on Monday 04 May...all public holidays here are on a Monday except for Good Friday and Christmas Day 25 Dec and Boxing Day 26 Dec and New Year's Day 01 Jan and also, back home in Scotland, 02 Jan as well as a bonus and recuperation and recovery day from Hogmanay. ;-)

Happy May Day!

Here is a very old YT clip featuring the Monty Python lunatics extracting the urine about May Day celebrations in England:

It's April 31st, according to my watch.

In my day we used to have April 31st. Then Labour got in and ruined April-end bank holiday for everyone.
