Suggest Vs. Recommend

What's the difference in using "suggest" and "recommend?"

Perhaps "suggest" is a bit stronger:

"I suggest you get off the railroad tracks right now, before you get run over."

"On this 6GB machine, we recommend running Windows 64-bit."

I suggest you use a good dictionary to find out the difference and I'd recommend the Longman Dictionary.
