"backwards slowly" or "slowly backwards"

... that's the question.

Do you say

(a) He moved backwards slowly.

or

(b) He moved slowly backwards.

?

I'm sure that (a) is correct, but what about (b) ?
Thanks in advance!

For me its "backwards slowly"

I've got a bit of a Latin influence on my syntax so adjectives come after verbs

Lex.... it's adverb. But I know what you mean.

a) is correct.

Have you noticed Star Trek "boldly goes" when it should "go boldly"?.

#1, sure.
First, where; then how.

Except if you want to put emphasis on 'how' or 'he'.
