I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

You made me think deep on a possible difference between vowels in these words. The 'i' can differ in writer/ride, because strong 't' makes the vowel shorter. But why there may be a difference in "I scream/ice cream"? In fast speech there shouldn't be any difference.

So you're saying it should be the raised vowel for both I scream and ice cream?

You mean the intonation is different? Then I agree.

Cr - don't be a big baby accusing me of I'm lying just because you want to cover some people with the same big blanket. Someone who posted before my last post ALSO said s/he pronounces the d and t in rider/writer. And by the way, I'm from Quebec, Canada. And not everyone is too lazy to pronounce the letters in certain words.

Maria - I draw out the long "I" just a bit longer then pause very slightly before saying "scream".

With the word "ice cream" I don't draw the "I" out but instead say it in a curt way in "ice" word.
I hope that made sense to you, lol. I'm not sure if I explained it well.
