How do you interpret that sentence?

1. "I pick the apple that is hanging on the tree."

2. "I pick the apple while I am hanging on the tree."

3. Both interpretations are possible.

Only #1.

Thank you.

Is "Hanging on the tree I pick the apple." a possible sentence? If so, does it match #2 ("I pick the apple while I am hanging on the tree.")?

It is technically ambiguous, but given the context it is overwhelmingly likely that people would interpret it as #1.

"Hanging on the tree I pick the apple" is a possible sentence (although it really needs a comma after "tree", and yes it would mean #2.
