Attention native speakers!
Please check the correctness of these sentences.
1) I won't let you enjoy the computer if you don't do the homework.
2) I won't let you work on computer if you don't do the homework.
3) I won't let you use the computer if you don't do the homework.
4) I won't let you play with the computer if you don't do the homework.
Which of these sounds more conversational? You can also give more appropriate sentences.
"I won't let you use the computer if you don't do the homework."
However, I would say "if you don't do YOUR homework" instead of "the."
I'd like to know who are the native speakers on this forum? thanks
Larissa,
I am not a native speaker, but I speak just like one. Besides, my grammar background is very good; and when I have doubts concerning the topic I'm viewing, I always check books or serious websites.
It's all about communicating effectively! ;)
People who have picked up English from their parents and the environment around them. I often come across folks from Canada, the US, the UK, Australia and Newzeland on this forum.
To Caesar
Where are you from?
Abdullah,
I am from San José, Costa Rica. My country is located in Central America.
"when I have doubts concerning the topic " was it a remark?
Yes, Larissa... just to let you know that part of my personality is to learn.
I hate when I'm doubtful about some things.
To Caesar
I'm very impressed with your English eventhough it's not your native language.I wanna make friends with you. Is it possible?
Hahaha! Abdullah, you sounded sarcastic!
If there is anything I can help you with, well... it's a pleasure, buddy!

I myself would agree with César and say that (3) sounds the most conservational for most general usage, but it sounds better as such if you replace "the homework" with "your homework".
