Latin phonology is relatively simple compared to the Germanic and Slavic languages. Is it due to an Etruscan substratum?.

Lots of Indo-European Languages were spoken in Italy along with Latin. They were all quite similar to Latin in vocabulary and grammar. However, Etruscan did not belong to the same European group of languages. According to some linguists, Etruscan influenced Tuscan, both languages possess X sound.
