How do you pronounce the word ''twenty''? I pronounce it /twVni/ or /twVnti/ never */twEn(t)i/.
''twenty''
I myself pronounce it as /twVnti/ -> formally [t_hw_0V~.4~i] and informally [t_hw_0VI~], where [VI~] is a single nasalized diphthong.
One note, though, is that [t] or [t_h] corresponding to the second /t/ in "twenty" never "reach the surface" in my realizations of "twenty". Rather, said /t/ in such serves solely to make sure that the proper realization occurs. This is because without it, one would not have a short vowel in the first syllable of "twenty" and one would not have [4~] in second syllable the formal pronunciation of "twenty" in my dialect.
