Is Spanish really SOUGHT AFTER in USA?

Inquirer   Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:52 am GMT
- Are there too few Spanish speaking people in USA?
- Or do you think there are too many?

I have a feeling most Americans agree with the latter option.
reality   Tue Dec 08, 2009 2:24 pm GMT
Spanish is the ugliest language ever, we do not need it in the US
Jennifer Lopez   Tue Dec 08, 2009 3:25 pm GMT
Well, Spanish language is the second language in USA and also the second most important language in the World.

USA is so important than we can export two languages.

We are lucky to have the Hispanic minority and the Catholic religion.

Other countries like France have a lot of smelly muslim Blacks and radical Arabics. Arabic is now the second language of France and the muslim religion will be soon the first one there.
gorditos y feos   Tue Dec 08, 2009 3:27 pm GMT
I love Arabic, without no doubt it's much more interesting than Spanish
Franco   Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:35 pm GMT
I agree, it's always better to have the Hispanics as minority in USA than the Muslims in France. At leasts the former are Christian so they share more similar values with their host society.
Citizen   Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:49 pm GMT
Problem with these hispanics is that they have violent gangs, often initially set up to protect themselves against blacks thugs, but grew themselves to become just as violent and criminal.
Franco   Tue Dec 08, 2009 5:15 pm GMT
There were Irish gang bands too and not to mention Italian maffia in Chicago. They will fade away with some time.
Citizen   Tue Dec 08, 2009 5:46 pm GMT
Is it true that Spaniards are seen as Hispanics too in the US? For some reason all Hispanics aren't seen as white anymore, which they used to be in the '60s. How long will it take for them to become officially 'white' again?
A Spaniard, while some do have indeed Amazigh/Arab heritage in them, is considered a European brother in the EU at least.

We are lucky to have the Francophone minority and the Catholic religion.

Other countries like Spain have a lot of smelly muslim Blacks and radical Hindus. Hindi is now the second language of Spain and the hindu religion will be soon the first one there.

If one wants to succeed in his career in the US, then French is the most practical and useful one.

As you can see in the following links:

French is required by 43 companies, Spanish by 17, German by 16, Portuguese by 11, Dutch by 2 and Nordic/Scandinavian by 1.

According to the website with a title of "French The Most Practical Foreign Language": One example of the importance of French can be seen in a recent listing of international jobs (12/1/09) distributed by the US State Department: 92 required or preferred French, 36 Spanish, 11 a UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish), 7 Arabic, 5 Russian, 1 Japanese, 1 Hindi, 1 German, and 1 Chinese.

That is extremely inaccurate and looks like an ad for the French language. If I search for Spanish fluent engineering I will get 146 companies which require it... why are you advertising French?

And on topic now, I think most American's would say there are too many Spanish speakers, which I don't agree with. The more languages the better! I think it would be beneficial for more American's to learn Spanish, everyone in Europe knows at least 2 - 5 other languages compared to just English here.

There are two proofs that French is more useful in the US when it comes to foreign language requirement.

You have no proof that Spanish is the most sought after when it comes to this matter.

Soon German will overtake Spanish in the number of companies that require German language skills than Spanish.

USa is a country made by the scum from all parts of the world. the can't blame the scum from Mexico for doing the same than their ancestors.

For comparison in Europe Spanish is almost useless. In Spain there are nearly 46 milion people but only for 30 milion Spanish is a first( native) language. The other 15 milion speak Galician, Basque, Catalan, Arabic as their mother tongue...English, German and French are far more useful in Europe...So Hispanicization of the United States is not our problem...
