The Scots love new year. They seem to love it more than any other people, although I'm not sure why. They call it Hogmanay, and in Edinburgh they have the biggest New Year street party in Europe. I think it's just another excuse for them to drink alcohol.

The English don't care about it too much. We set off a few little fireworks in London, then go home to bed. We're just mainly interested in the New Year football fixtures.

Have you decided how you're gonna celebrate a New Year?

How boring our wee Sassenach friend Adam makes out the English New Year celebrations to be! I'm so glad I live North of the Border where we know how to live and celebrate the one big event of the year in Scotland.

Tonight is Edinburgh's (and Scotland's) BIG NIGHT! Hogmanay!! The biggest street party in the world.

The whole Party starts at 18,00hrs and will last for 3 days and 3 nights!

Happy Hogmanay and GUID NEW YEAR from Edinburgh and Scotland.
