Do Australian people use the past simple instead of present perfect in everyday speech? As far as i know , americans might say - (We already saw the film but they didnt see it yet.) . Is it correct in australian speech?

Thank u in advance

English is used to communicate. I would find it surprising if Australian's used English in such a way that they failed to communicate. English speakers rely on these grammatical rules to understand what people are saying. So although there might be some truth to what you are saying, Australians are not going to break all the rules. This is not football!

Do you understand my joke?

I thought not.
