The first one make absolutely no sense. It should either be "This are all very interesting topics" or "This is a very interesting topic".

Hmmm. No one has managed to post in this thread without making a mistake. I assume ingirishu teacheru is intentionally writing bad English as a joke, but ng's misspelling of "interesting" and You kiddin' me? writing "this" instead of "these" may have just been typos.

The question should be "What is the difference?" "Deference" means something completely different.
