I thought it was 'one swallow doesn't make a summer', not spring, but I'm not really sure.

The Catalan idiom would be:

Una flor no fa estiu

A flower does not make a summer

There's also : Por morrer uma andorinha não se acaba a Primavera. (= Spring isn't over just because one swallow died.)

In Hungarian, we can say it both as "One swallow does not make spring", or "One swallow does not make summer". In the first case, the translation is: "Egy fecske nem csinál tavaszt". In the latter case, the last word will have to be changed to "nyarat".

Alors Ho <fecske> = Fr <hirondelle> ?
