Hi,
I'm considering buying books on writing, especially known to be a classic or a must-have.

In the list are
1. The Careful Writer - Theodore M. Bernstein; Paperback

2. A Dictionary of Modern English Usage (Oxford Language Classics Series) - Henry Fowler

3. Garner's Modern American Usage - Bryan A. Garner
(by the way, which is better between '2' and '3'? I think one of them need to be removed)

4. Writer's Reference : 2003 Mla Update (Paperback, 5TH REP)

would it be worth to buy all of them?
is there any other recommendation that you think should be added to my list?

For one thing, you did not specify the type of writing you will most likely be engaged in. If you will be writing columns for a news organization; you will need certain types of books, not particularly the same types you would get if you're interested in writing novels.

If you hope to be a good story teller, you will need books on creative writing. I am going to assume that you just want any good book about "writing" in a rather general and primitive essence of its meaning. Well, for starters, examine the web page below:
