What does "star" mean in:

"...the official report reads that I was unbelted, with no headlights and starred the windshield, non of which was true."

I think (never seen it before) she got injured, hitting the windshield with her head.

I've never seen or heard the verb "to star" used in that way, but if something heavy or at high velocity hits your windshield (like someone's head), what you're left with is a nasty starburst or spider crack on the glass.
