IN THIS SENTENCE:

IS "B" IN THE SENTENCE A WORD?

PLEASE EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

I would say that it is a quotation, for lack of a better way to put it, even though it is not written in quotes or italicized itself.

THANKS A BUNCH, TRAVIS.

It's a letter. The word for the letter B is "bee".

You don't need a word for B, you either say it in which case it sounds exactly the same as B, or you write it and confuse everyone!

Well, he asked and there is a word; it's "bee", just like there's a word for every other letter of the alphabet.

The simple answer is that a letter of the alphabet is a noun.

You know what, primary school lessons are flooding back in my mind. And your right, sorry for the confusion. Usefull for learning, but completly useless in everyday life. Thats why I laughed.

I ONLY WANTED TO KNOW IF THE
"B" IN THE SENTENCE "B IS THE SECOND LETTER OF THE ALPHABET" IS ITSELF A WORD OR NOT A WORD.

BY THE WAY, SKYLA IS A "SHE".

I MEAN, IS "B" TECHNICALLY A WORD IN THE SENTENCE "B IS THE SECOND LETTER OF THE ALPHABET"????

A teacher may ask a student to create a sentence starting with the word "B".

Well, I thought "B" was just a letter, but L6117VA tells us it's a noun. So I suppose if it's a noun then it follows that it's a word! Go figure.
