SOME vs A FEW

The Bliars moved out some days ago.
Would you rather say “a few” instead? What’s the difference if any?

"The Bliars moved out some days ago."

This emphasises that the Blairs have been gone for a considerable time.

"The Bliars moved out a few days ago."

This simply states that they have been gone for a few days.

Ed: You meant to say that "some days ago" could be two to three weeks time. And "a few days" mean less than a week.

Please correct my understanding.

Boy, I don't think you can be so precise as that. I'm sure Ed meant just about what he wrote.

Though roughly speaking, yes, somewhere between the 1 & 2 week mark you'd switch ... depending.

Tnx , folks. Brennus, grateful for a nice source. The bottom line is – “some” implies a longer span, than “a few”, doesn’t it?
