SOME vs A FEW
The Bliars moved out some days ago.

"The Bliars moved out some days ago."
This emphasises that the Blairs have been gone for a considerable time. "The Bliars moved out a few days ago." This simply states that they have been gone for a few days.
Ed: You meant to say that "some days ago" could be two to three weeks time. And "a few days" mean less than a week.
Please correct my understanding.
Boy, I don't think you can be so precise as that. I'm sure Ed meant just about what he wrote.
Though roughly speaking, yes, somewhere between the 1 & 2 week mark you'd switch ... depending.
Tnx , folks. Brennus, grateful for a nice source. The bottom line is – “some” implies a longer span, than “a few”, doesn’t it?
