i think i would write---her boyfriend waits until she is off duty..

I would say "Her boyfriend waits until she gets off-duty."

I agree with lisa of the uk.

You can say either "until she is off-duty" or "until she gets off", but not "until she gets off-duty".

Perhaps "gets off duty" would be the correct spelling, but there is nothing wrong the phrase itself.
