I think it's the British way of blending all their words together that helps them speak faster.

When Americans speak, we tend to enunciate more (moreso than Britons, at least), and therefore, we speak slowly.

Working class Britons also tend drop consonents a lot leading to a lot of contracted words, like saying wa'er instead of water, or 'ate instead of hate.

What do you think is the reason behind the differences in speech between "working class Britons" and "upper class Britons."

I don't think that there is such a difference in speech between the "blue collar Americans" and "White collar Americans."
