take / take with you

Hi!

I've got a question concerning the verb "take". Is it possible to ask "Are you taking your camera?" (e.g. when someone wants to go on holiday) or is only "Are you taking your camera with you?" possible? I've read the first question somewhere and I have the feeling that something is missing.
If both questions are correct, what is the difference?

You can say "are you taking your camera?" if it is implied that they are going on holiday eg. "So you are going on holiday, are you taking your camera?"

The "with you" part is implied...so you don't need to say it.
There is no real difference just that the person knows that your are talking about a "holiday" when you mention the first one.
Hope that's a help
