Names of months in different languages

>> I’m totally surprised and completely disappointed to see how my posting from yesterday, Saturday-January the 6th was assumed by somebody else. I don’t know what to say, Guest! To do so, you might be one and the same person with the moderator…I’m so disappointed! How could you do that, that’s not even childish?

The old Romanian month’s description, the whole commentary and the entire layout has been inserted by me yesterday. I verified its entry and now, my posting appears under Guest’s name, posted today, Sunday…. Incredible! That’s a real indication about the seriousness of this website!

Good bye! <<

lol. You are soooo funny. Isn't it completely obvious what happened? Ion, do you realize that on this website, one must type ones name each time one makes a post? There are no logins. If you don't type your name, it will be posted as an *anonymous* post, and bear the name "Guest". "Guest" in English means a visitor, and is commonly used in a forum to an anonymous person. "Guest" is not a name, but rather a word--look it up in the dictionary. And, "Guest" certainly is not the moderator. That would be so funny... So, what happened, was you must not have typed your name in the box at the top. If you don't type your name, you will be a guest.

>> what are you talking about? What bad posts? My post is here under your name, and the only think what has been deleted is my name...what kind of game are you playing here? <<

Guest is not a name. Look it up in the dictionary.

>> Anyway, do whatever you want.. I won't be back on this site at all! I'm sorry for wasting so much time, for so long! <<

I'm sorry to hear that. We would be sad to see you go over a simple misunderstanding.

Oh God!I didn't think Turkish had borrowed so many words from other languages.What about Turkish week days?
1-Pazartesi
2-Salı
3-Çarşamba
4-Perşembe
5-Cuma
6-Cumartesi
7-Pazar
Are these foreign words, too?
Guest   Sat Jan 13, 2007 10:11 pm GMT
Çarşamba = [ Persian]
Perşembe = [Persian]
Cuma = reunion [related to Persian/Arabic]

Pazar from bazaar (Persian: بازار‎, Hindi: बज़ार) is a marketplace, often covered, typically found in areas of Persian, Indian, and some Islamic culture. The word derives from the Persian word bāzār, whose etymology goes back to the Pahlavi word baha-char (بهاچار) meaning "the place of prices".

and Sali also arabic

ilki Arapça üçüncü gün anlamında Sellase, Selase ثلاثة sözcüğü, ikincisi de Farsça-Süryanice gene üçüncü gün anlamında Seşenbe sözcüğüdür.
Eski Türkçe'de bu güne 'Üçünç denir.

All Germanic languages had native name for the months of the year. Some of them were similar in large areas; others were not. They can be found at: http://www.geonames.de/months.html. However, this list does not include North Frisian. The mainland dialects have preserved the native names:

J: ismoune, literally ice month
F: biikenmoune, beacon month
M: uursmoune, spring month
A: gjarsmoune grass month
M: krülemoune flower month
J: samermoune summer month
J: foodermoune, fodder month
A: beeridmoune, harvest month
S: härfstmoune, autumn month
O: stormmoune, storm month
N: mistmoune, mist month
D: jülmoune, yule month
