Hello! I have to write an essay about the final scenes of 4 weddings and a funeral, and I have a few vocabulary problems. Can anyone help me?

Are these sentences correct?:
- he proposed to her.
- he declared his love to her.
- he made a declaration of love to her.
- just before exchanging vows with his wife-to-be, he decided to stop the ceremony.
- he parted with her just before saying "I do".
- in the final scene, Charles proposes her not to marry him.
- it's a "non-proposal"

You were doing okay until the second to last sentence.

"- in the final scene, Charles proposes her not to marry him."

Try, "In the final scene, Charles proposes that they NOT marry." (or, "proposes that she not marry him")

Thank you for your answer.
What about "he aks her not to marry him". Is that better??
Is the last sentence ok? (it's a "non-proposal").
