Is there another way of saying le compact-disc? I heard some french who were against these english intrusions use a new french word to replace " le compact-disc"?

Are there any other examples of some die-hard french who invent new words to fend off these english "intrusions"?

this word is half latin-greek and not english,so it is a common word
for westerners,especially scarified french....
