"nearer" and "mirror" as well as "s

Who would ever Siriusly pronounce "serious" and "Sirius" the same way? They're /sI:ri@s/ and /sIri@s/ for me.

Also:

"mirror" /mIr@/ and "nearer" /nI:r@/ (these don't rhyme)

"mere" /mI:/ and "near" /nI:/ (these do rhyme)
