No, I don't really think so. I'm Canadian and I almost always use 'eether' [iD@`]. But I've heard both. I think older speakers tend to use 'aither' [aID@`] more.

I'm from Liverpool, UK, and not too familiar with many American accents, but as soon as I heard you speaking, I immediately thought "sounds like a NJ accent" so I wasn't surprised when you mentioned your English teacher was from NJ. You definitely picked up her accent.

There seems to be a slight Californian accent there, too, but a much stronger NJ one.
