What's the tense of ...is to do....

Hi, I learned from a website says "Duke of Kent is to visit Oakfield campus" and wondering what's the tense in this sentence?

Has it used correct grammar?

Thanks

The sentence is grammatically correct. The answer to your question depends on what you mean by "tense". The word "is" is present tense. But the expression refers to the future. It means "The Duke of Kent is scheduled to visit Oakfield campus" or "The Duke of Kent is supposed to visit Oakfield campus".

Guest is right.

It's a bit confusing because tense and time are not necessarily always synonymous.
