The problem of most Online Translators such as Babelfish, Freetranslation or Worldlingo is they translate sentences word for word. Plus, when a word has several meaning, only one translation is offered. Finally, Online Translators tends to not detect idioms or special usages.
The following change could be made:
1. If a term is ambiguous, display the different translations in a colour different from the rest of the text and separate them with the character |
Eg: About > au sujet de | à propos de | autour de | environ
2. Display the words that couldn't be translated in red.
3. Below the word for word translation, provide a second one that includes possible idioms.
4. Below this second translation, list all the nouns, verbs and adjectives in the sentence and provide detailed defintions of each of them.
5. Provide a list of words that ressemble the words that couldn't be translated with their meaning.
