Pink floyd lyrics- Lost for words

Hi everyone:
I wish you help me with this pink floyd song" lost for words",I don't get the meaning of some parts, especially this part:

To martyr yourself to caution
Is not going to help at all
because there'll be no safety in numbers
When the right one walks out of the door

I'll be really grateful if you can help me.

Not that familiar with this particular song, but my guess would be:

"To martyr yourself to caution" -- to feel like you must do the "safe" thing, even though it will cause you to miss a great opportunity

"Is not going to help at all" --(pretty self-explanatory)

"because there'll be no safety in numbers" -- It won't matter if many other people would have made the same decision

"When the right one walks out of the door" -- when the (probably, in this context) girl of your dreams leaves your life because you didn't make an effort to seize the opportunity to get things started with her.

Any Pink Floyd fans who know more about these lyrics than I do (especially since they are out of context here) feel free to correct me!
