Can someone tell me the differences among these three?
It seems "a set book" is british English...

A "set book" is a book that's been prescribed to be studied for a course at school, college, university, etc. It means the same as "set textbook" and "course textbook".

It means the same as "set textbook" and "course textbook", provided the "set book" is in fact a textbook.
