Is German NOT important "in Asia"?

It depends on the country because Asia is very big. On the whole, English and Chinese are very important in Asia.

Japanese, Spanish, French and German are fighting for a third position. So, only English and Chinese are really important.

In several Asiatic countries like Vietnam, French is more studied, or Spanish in Philippines.

For instance, in South Korea, after English, Chinese and Japanese, Spanish is 4th, French is 5th and German 6th. The last three, almost not studied. So, you can see:

1. English. Necessary

2. Chinese. Important

3. Japanese, Spanish, French and German. Minority foreign languages.

"German is the most important language in Continental Europe."

I am sorry, I am from Central Europe and it is not true. Most important is English and German is the second only, than French, Italy then comes Spanish.
I am amazed, that so many people choose to learn German in Asia too. Being in Europe for me it is more natural.
