Status of International languages

In my opinion, there is one international language, that is actually an universal language. This language is English.

The second most important language is difficult to know.
In the Americas the answer is Spanish, but in some parts of Europe the answer is French, German or Russian, and in some parts of Africa the answer is French or Arabic. The same in Asia where the answer will be Chinese or Hindi.

So, the status of international languages is the next:

1. English

2. It depends on the are you live. It can be Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, etc. At this moment, it is not clear.

Which is your point of view???
