"baby hit me one more time"

What does "hit" mean in this sentence? I am aware that in modern American slang, "hit" might refer to "have sex with" but Britney was still a virgin when she recorded that song, no? I hope she didn't mean "hit" literally then???

I think it refers to love or fancy or some similar feelings, I think in oral English you can say " I got hit by that girl"

"Hit me" simply means "tell me" or "give me a sign/news".

No.

Jake: I have some news for you.
Jed: Hit me/give it to me.

Jezz: I've got that telephone number you asked for.
Juzz: Hit me/give it to me.

A lot of native English speakers didn't know what Britney was talking about either. I didn't.

"Hit me" also means "call me"

Example:

"Hit me on the hip tomorrow and we'll hook up."

Translation:

Call me on my cell phone tomorrow and we'll make arrangements to meet.

At 16 years old to be exact. And how old was she when she recorded that song?

I thought she meant "to make sexual advances toward her".

I thought it meant "tell me" or "let me know"...

I think there is some slang from the sixties "Sock it to me"...
