Dictionaries did not help you?

Instead of saying that, you might as well have helped him.

Overhead has two meanings:

1) above, or literally "over your head"

2) equipment and supplies that a business needs to have on hand in order to do its job, usually factored into prices, inventories, and other costs.

Might as well means go ahead and do it, there are no reasons not to.

Adam,
You might as well have given more than one example

>>I aimed the camera overhead. You can see the rays extending up toward Vega in the constellation of Lyra.<<

Just for a change.

Now I am confused. Could you tell me the difference between "might as well" and "should"? Thanks a lot!
Uriel   Fri Nov 04, 2005 1:11 am GMT
"Should" implies that you are obligated to do something; "might as well" is more of a suggestion.

Thanks, eito -- I have to be nice to SOMEONE, I guess! :D

Where in Japan are you from, eito? I lived in Kanagawa prefecture, near Sobudai/Zama when I was a teenager.
