I felt shit about myselft. What does it mean? I am disappointed about myself?

To feel shit means to feel very bad.

By the way, me too! I must remember not to get intoxicated on a week day.

Out of context it can mean a lot of thing. For example you can "talk shit about someone" meaning, that you are in some way badmouthing them.

You can be the "shit about town" which in a pejorative sense means about the same as being the "man about town".

One can "shit about" something which means to complain.

There are probably countless other undocumented for this expression, but it's pretty much universally considered improper in polite company.

Or it could be literal:

I woke up and found myself in a smelly pit. Reaching out, to my horror, I felt shit about myself. It was a long-drop.

The dog shit about the room because its owner was not home to walk it.

Amazing. Such a versatile word.

I've never heard anyone say:
"I felt shit about myself"

but I HAVE heard:
"I felt *shitty* about myself"

Russconha, what's that shit you are on about? Do you think you can just post shit about anything and expect people to believe it?

"The dog shit about the room because its owner was not home to walk it."

"I felt shit about myself"

Those both sound like something a Brit would say. An American would say something more like " the dog shit all over the place (house)" and "I felt shitty about myself". Actually, I`d just say "I feel shitty" because I really do!

<<"The dog shit about the room because its owner was not home to walk it."
>>

Shouldn't that be 'shat': The dog *shat* about the room..."? (Past tense?)

<<Shouldn't that be 'shat': The dog *shat* about the room..."? (Past tense?)>>

"Shat" is an alternative to "shit" (in the past tense). It sounds rather dated and nobody I know uses it.

I don't know about anybody else but I also never use the word "spat". I would always say "He spit on me." Is this common?
