Hello,

Which of these sentences is/are correct?

When something approaches them, snakes feel the arrival of the thing -

1. with the vibration of the ground.
3. with the vibration on the ground.
2. from the vibration of the ground.
4. from the vibration on the ground.

Thanks in advance

Of all of those, the one that sounds most natural is "from the vibration of the ground", and while the others are understandable, they sound a bit off to me overall.

For English (and probably most Indo-European languages), number 2 is the correct syntax. Once you get outside the Indo-European family of languages, however, grammars often change radically.
