Voice Sample

Hi everyone, could you please comment on my accent?

Here is the passage I read ...

"They both walked to the foot of the enormous wall over the beach, far
from which the tide had now retreated; but instead of going towards the
north, they went southward. Pencroft had remarked, several hundred feet
from the place at which they landed, a narrow cutting, out of which he
thought a river or stream might issue. Now, on the one hand it was
important to settle themselves in the neighborhood of a good stream of
water, and on the other it was possible that the current had thrown Cyrus Harding on the shore there".

Here is the sample:

Well, I'm not a native speaker so my judgement doesn't count much. On the whole you speak understandable English. However, your pronunciation is not clear enough. Your intonation is perhaps better than that of Roger's from the thread: my voice sample. I have listened a couple of times your sample and Roger's for comparison. Roger's pronunciation is much clearer, but I think he worked more than you on this "The Mysterious Island" passage.
Hope this helps a little bit.

That largely depends on your own preferences. The style, melody, etc. There's a lot to choose from, be it an audiobook or internet sources.
