'Data' pronunciation

As an engineer, I hear both "day-tah" and "da ta" ("da" rhymes with the ca in cat in American English). I usually use the latter myself.

I've heard a couple of Brits living in the USA say "Dah tah" (Very elongated on both syllables.)

Orion: those British guys you mention are probably from the South of England :-)
