Age: 19
Location where you grew up: West Virginia

1. Do you distinguish pronunciation between:
pen and pin - no
caught and cot - no
Mary, marry, merry - no (I pronounce all three like 'Mary'... and I remember once when my brother was really little, he wrote "Marry Christmas" on all the Christmas cards!)
draw and drawl - yes (But I do know people who say things like "dral a picture" or "drink from a strawl")

2. Do the following sentences sound okay to you?
I might could do it tonight. no
Do you want to come with? no (I can understand it fine when anyone says it, but to me, it seems incomplete. Like if someone said "Have you heard about the new?" And I'd think "New what?" ...so, it's kind of like that with this, maybe because I'm expecting to hear a pronoun. o.O)
We stood on line for two hours. no
She is in hospital. no (For the same reasons marydoodle pointed out. It makes it seem like "hospital" is a state of being and not a place. Although, I wonder why I have no problem with 'she is in school' and 'she is in church' ...but 'she is in hospital' doesn't work for me.)
We seen the movie yesterday. no, but a lot of people here say it
The car needs cleaned. yes (I was surprised when I found out so many people don't use this. I suppose it's a regional thing, because -everyone- here says this. "The bills need paid." "The cat needs out." I can understand how it would sound strange to someone who isn't used to it.)
We are in five. no (I finally found out what this means! I asked someone about it, and found that some people use this to mean "We are in a group of five." Before, this was totally incoherent to me.)

3. Write the word that you use to refer to these:
source of water over the sink or tub - spicket, and sometimes faucet
a carbonated drink - soda or pop
center of a peach - pit
plural form of 'you' - you
tiny candies put on top of an ice cream cone or cupcake - sprinkles
the night before Halloween - I don't have any particular name for it
small glowing insect visible after dark - lightning bug
