Hey cockroach...

Everybody knows that English is #1 in terms of importance.
We're talking about French and Spanish only.

In both Africa and Europe, French comes after English.

Take it easy frogs, please!!!!

English is obviously the most important language. I read that the 2 most spoken languages in every Continent are the next:

North America: English & Spanish

Latin America: Spanish & Portuguese

Europe: English & Russian (including second language users)

Africa & Middle East: Arabic & English (thanks to Nigeria and South Africa is the second).

Asia & Pacific: English & Chinese

English is in 4 Continents

Spanish is in 2 Continents

Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Portuguese are in 1 Continent

French is NOWHERE!!

Sorry, but if we are stricter, French is spoken by hardly 120 million people around the world. So, French is the less spoken international language important nowhere.

But that everybody know...

Even the frogs know it. I don't know what they get denying facts. If they believe that they are gonna cheat somebody they must be frankly retarded.

Sorry, but if we are stricter, Spanish is spoken by hardly 50 million people in Europe. Besides, French is the spoken international language, important now here.

But that everybody know...

Hi, Retarded!

Yes, French can be spoken by 15 million people more in Europe. But that is not too much important.

In all the World, Spanish is spoken by 500 million people, and French only by 250 million, including all African people that can say "Bonjour".

Who wins...?

Hi, Clever!
I see you are counting the number of native speakers.
But your clever logic is flawed as I will prove here.
Now another reckoning: Chinese: 1.3 bilion speakers; Hindi: 1 bilion; English: 400 milion
Who wins...?

Which language, between French and Spanish, is more studied worldwide? Which of them is more used in diplomacy? in science? in technology?

As you can see, Spanish is no better than Chinese or Hindi. In fact Chinese and Hindi are more important than Spanish not only in number of speakers but also in diplomacy, science and technology.

1.English
2.French
3.Chinese
4.Hindi
5.Spanish

How many nobel prizes does Chinese have?

About French second speakers, that number is highly variable. It varies from 40 millions ( the most probable) to 100 millions (according to French Government). I think that the strength of a country relies on native speakers, and also their degree of development , right, but secondary speakers are irrelevant . In the case of French it is even more irrelevant because people around the world use English as their second language predominantly.

1.English
2.French
3.Chinese
4.Hindi
5.Spanish >>

This list repersents languages of the past. A more useful list might be one for the languages of the future:

1. Chinese
2. Hindi
3. Arabic
4. Spanish (probably slowly declining ni relative importance)
5. English (still hanging on, but rapidly fading)
6. French (in the same boat as English)

Hi, frankly retarded!

There are several tricks in your post!

Chinese is an important language, one of the UNO languages, but it is not official in all international organizations.

Hindi. The problem of Hindi is that English is also official in India. So, the diplomatic and economic relations are in English. At least at the moment.

Anyway, both are ASIATIC languages. It is better to compare the same group of languages (European in this case) because the reality of Asiatic languages is very different.

European languages: there is another trick in your post. You want to compare only French and Spanish. It is better to add English too!! That is more real!!!

Fast comparison (English / Spanish / French):

-Which is the language of science? English

-Which is the language of diplomacy? English

-Which is the language of technology? English

So, the real problem of French (and German too) is the growing importance of English in all fields.

French is a little more important than Spanish in science? Who cares. All important books and reviews are in English.

Who want to study the "in theory second most important language" if there is one much important? That is the problem of French. You know that. In Vietnam, Laos, Syria, old French Africa people study English and sometimes French.

French remains official in some countries. But that is at the moment. In the near future, these African countries can add English, like Madagascar, or worse, change to English. That is the famous globalization.

In this context, only languages very spoken, in a big area, where English is not very studied can be really important: Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, etc.

Sorry but the ancient Greeks also accomplished a lot, but they aren't even here any more. Times change. The leaders are usurped. We can recognise the achievements of French, but little good that does them!

Besides, all important science and technology publications are in English. There are more in French than in Spanish - that's true. But the people who read these are not likely to be leaders so who cares about them. If it's not in English, it's not good - a general rule in the global scientific knowledge community.
