Ha ha! I get a big kick out of having a maid. I've been an inveterate slob since birth, and the moment I finally made enough money to be able to afford one, I jumped on it. She's a close friend of one of my coworkers, and cleans house for another coworker in the next office, so I got glowing recommendations for her. She comes every other Thursday, and for days my house is spotless, and better yet, I didn't have to lift a finger, except to write the check! This must be paradise.
As for the upstairs/downstairs thing, I have to giggle, because the first time she pulled up in my driveway, the roommate and I just looked at each other and went Damn ... she drives a better car than either of us! We're obviously in the wrong lines of work.....
