Shall Sweden adopt "English" as official language?

Every time I meet an Irish person I always ask about the language and they always tell me the same story - "yeah, I studied it at school but I hated it because it's boring and they don't teach it properly".

People only learn a language when they want to and are willing to use it on a daily basis. People can only do this much in teaching it. It also depends on the enthusiasm in the class.
Are there also Irish people who are educated in Gaelic for all courses and learn English as their second language? Even though I can imagine that these schools must have strict rules for pupils who are fluent at Gaelic, like: don't speak English when you're at school, unless you're in English class.

It's like with immigrant children, they neither are allowed to speak their foreign language on school. :p
