The reason the Spanish participation is not so good is because they are too busy participating in actual academic publications rather than wasting time on dirty Wikipedia. Wikipedia is below them.

The French Troll attacks again. Why do you have to do that? Why do you always attack? And now you are going to say that Hispanic or Spaniard started. May be I should start to be a German Troll. I really think YOU, not the French people, has a big problem.

I think in the future Chinese will be in the Top 5, and Spanish. But one curious thing, Japanese articles are reducing, even articles which are written in English by Japanesse. Why happends this?

Another point is: What is the relationship between Internet and the Society?

According to:

http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats7.htm

German is the 6th language in Internet but there are more articles than Japanese, French, Spanish, Chinesse. Could this be because German Society use more internet the others? ( In %)

Another questions is, Which countries use more Internet? Everybody Knows China is the first with 200,000,000. (But the Goverment probably don't allow them use Wilkimedia, for that reason there are not a lot of articles). And what kind of information people research in internet?

I also notice Japanese activity on Youtube in a simular manner. Japanese are not shy to post videos, but almost always they recieve English comments, except for Japanese music and other obscure corners about Japanese culture.

When it's about World War II, the original version of Godzilla or even some trivial (but popular) kitty videos, people talk English, for non-Japanese are attracted to it and Japanese watch, but rarely respond at all.
I know Japanese are shy to talk English while abroad, but online they seem to be so for their native Japanese as well in the presence of foreigners. I dunno why.

Does Japan have another video hosting medium apart from Youtube? Like the French have dailymotion for instance?

*********************************************************

i have lived in China for the last 6 years.

obviously, the Chinese live in a world of their own, they have their own Wiki (hoodong.com), their own youtube (tudou.com) and their own Google (Baidu.com), pretty much everything is localized for their own good.

Most chinese internent users prefer using web stuff in chinese.

In fact there're a lot of exceptions, for example, we use Wiki, not hoodong, and we watch Youtube, not tudou, and we like Google, and not baidu, we're living in an international space in China. So, perhaps you had been living in an undeveloped area for the last 6 years in CHINA, I'm afraid so.

I visited WIKI through PROXY.

no commets...

Considering many people don't even know what a proxy is I doubt that these sites can be as popular in China as in the rest of the World. Chinese has a lot of potential, but the Chinese government must allow people use it freely on the Internet.

<< The reason the Spanish participation is not so good is because they are too busy participating in actual academic publications >>

The reason the Spanish participation is not so good is because they are too busy participating in actual entertainment and gossip publications rather than wasting time on informative Wikipedia.

And when they do participate in Wikipedia, they uploaded misinformation glorifying the Spansih language that they even uploaded a map that indicates that Spanish is second in Canada not French and first in the US not English. So pathetic that the Wikipedia administraors allow this because they themselves are hispanics.

You can view that the link below.
