Which country is the most Latin: France, Spain or Italy?

You said "in terms of population". Now you refer to "relative population". Anyway nobody knows well the population of the Roman Empire. Authors' estimations diverge in more than 100%. So let alone estimations for the population of the entire world in 0 AD. The Spanish Empire (together with the Portuguese one during the union) had more inhabitants than the Roman empire. Period.

The native inhabitants of South and Central America were decimated by diseases that the Spanish conquistadors brought with them. That's why it was so easy for them to take over.

<<The Spanish Empire (together with the Portuguese one during the union) had more inhabitants than the Roman empire. Period.>>

And likewise a place like Nigeria today has more population than the Spanish empire ever had.

Would you say it was bigger? No, it would be a ludicrous statement.

Unless you take relative population into account you cannot compare empires.

Nigeria now has more population than the Spanish Empire had. It's a correct statement. Appart from population the Spanish Empire was more global than the Roman one. It was spread over more continents and united more diverse people.

You're clutching at straws now.

Man, you are the one who can't demonstrate the Spanish Empire was much less populated than the Roman one. Admit that you don't know what you are talking about.

That is true. Spain had territories in all the Continents:

1.North America (Mexico, some areas of Canada and half USA),

2.Central America (all of them),

3. Caribbean (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, etc),

4.South America (all of them),

5. Europe (Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, some areas of France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, etc),

6. Africa (Ceuta, Melilla, Canary islands, Angola, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Sahara, etc),

7. Asia (Philippines, Malaca, North Taiwan, Nagasaki, Macao, some areas of Indonesia, etc),

8. Oceania (Marianas, Micronesia, Carolinas, Palaos, Guam, etc).

In 1790 the Spanish Empire had over 20 million of squared Kilometers. I think only the British Empire was also in all the continents as Spain.

Ha! China tried to take Mongolia and was owned by the Soviet Union. I can't even see China retaking Taiwan, let alone the greatest nation on Earth!

Like i said before, the Roman empire was far larger. Around a quarter or more of the world, while the Spanish one was simply one medium sized empire among many others.

No. Chinese wants to dominate everything.
